John O’Dwyer CEO & Founder, Ruleguard John O’Dwyer is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ruleguard, a London-based RegTech company providing regulatory compliance, risk and governance software for financial institutions. He started Ruleguard in 2013 and has led the company’s growth from a small team to a robust SaaS platform serving over 50 blue-chip financial clients. John studied Computer Science with Cognitive Science at University College London (UCL), specialising in genetic algorithms and machine learning. Over his 25-year technology career, he has worked as a systems architect and technology leader on diverse challenges including KYC and onboarding automation, predictive analytics, post-trade analytics, and applying machine learning to regulatory compliance problems.
Ruleguard's founder and CEO, John studied Computer Science with Cognitive Science at UCL in the late 1990s, with a specialisation in genetic algorithms and machine learning.
Since then, John has spent 25 years working as a systems architect and technology leader, solving problems as diverse as KYC and onboarding automation, forward-ladder modelling, post-trade analytics, commodity-backed Sharia-compliant deposit and loan processing, predictive analytics, and the use of machine learning in regulatory compliance.
John has led Ruleguard since 2013, growing the team from 4 to 40 staff, and now serving over 50 blue chip financial clients.
