Meet the Ruleguard team

As the man responsible for shaping Ruleguard's commercial direction, Ed wears many hats. He engages with our clients and strategic partners, keeps an eye on regulatory developments, and works with the product team to improve and enhance our platform. Oh, and he's also a mean chess player.

Seasoned salesman and smooth operator, Mark spent 27 years at employee benefits provider Unum before joining Ruleguard in 2022. When he isn't evangelising Ruleguard's benefits, you'll find him singing and playing guitar, cooking up a storm, or sampling new gins.

A ten-year veteran of the Forex industry, Duncan spent a chunk of his career at Monex Europe, followed by a stint at a startup, before joining Ruleguard in 2022. Open, friendly, and endlessly helpful, he considers building strong, long-term relationships to be the most important part of his job.

Mark's address book is a who's who of leading banks, insurers, and Financial Services firms. In his 25-year career as a Sales and Business Development professional, he's helped contribute to the RegTech sector's growth, building many fruitful relationships in the process.

Nicholas has helped countless Risk and Technology consultancies grow their businesses, forging long-standing relationships with some of the world's leading investment banks in the process. Originally from Cornwall, he tries to spend time on the beach whenever possible.

A graduate of Brunel University, Liz has an encyclopaedic knowledge of AI and SaaS. At Ruleguard, she helps prospective clients understand the platform's technical aspects, explaining the finer technological details and answering questions about the practicalities of implementation.

A CIM-qualified marketer with 15 years of Financial Services and SaaS experience, Veena specialises in account-based marketing, digital marketing, and demand generation. She's also a fair keyboardist and an endless source of trivia about llamas… but that's a story for another time.

In a career spanning 27 years, Priscilla has worked as a consultant, CCO and MLRO providing regulatory oversight and advice to firms across the Financial Services industry. She is responsible for our thought leadership programme, writing regular articles and white papers, and hosting webinars on a variety of regulatory matters. Her dual role also encompasses the oversight of Risk Management at Ruleguard. She is a Fellow of the International Compliance Association, a certified GRC practitioner, and a member of the Institute of Risk Management.

Having spent most of his career as an analyst in the Financial Conduct Authority's authorisations division, Oscar crossed over to the dark side and joined the team in 2023. At Ruleguard, his job is to make sure we stay on top of the latest regulatory developments.

A seasoned practitioner, Richard has steered the finances for the likes of Feefo and Micheldever Tyres, and was instrumental in helping them boost profitability. When he's not taking care of Ruleguard's financial health, you'll find him golfing, playing cricket, or racing horses.

An organisational wizard, effective communicator, and runner, Alex supports Ruleguard's day-to-day finances and ensures we're on track to hit our goals. She's also Chair of Governors at a primary school and leads a regional school governance forum dedicated to building collaborative working and knowledge-sharing.

With an eagle eye for detail, Kerry tracks our incomings and outgoings, makes sure we stay on budget and keeps our books shipshape. Outside the office, she enjoys the great outdoors, taking long walks with her boisterous cocker spaniel and making memories with her family.

An experienced people professional, with over 14 years of experience, Sophie is driven by adding value to an organisation through the implementation of dynamic people strategies. During her time at Ruleguard, Sophie has transformed the HR function into a high-profile strategic partner. When she isn’t taking care of the Ruleguard team, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Ami manages recruitment, employee relations, staff events, culture and wellbeing, and other people processes, ensuring everything stays organised and runs like clockwork. As well as a CIPD L5 Diploma in HR Management, she's also an accomplished baker, which is great news for our taste buds but not so much for our waistlines.

The other brain behind Ruleguard. Matt has spent his career designing elegant solutions to complex problems and now leads the Platform function at Ruleguard. That means steering the product roadmap to continually delight our customers and looking after them at every stage of their journey. When he's not doing that, you'll find him curating an extensive collection of board games or enjoying one of a million equally nerdy pursuits.

An astute strategic thinker, Shaun acts as a bridge between our clients and the in-house technical team, actively listening to suggestions and concerns, crunching data, and working tirelessly to make sure our platform is as valuable and user-friendly as it can possibly be.

A software engineer with 20 years of experience under his belt, Paul works closely with the Product, Technical, and QA teams, refining user stories and seeing them through to implementation. He dabbles in photography and has a soldering iron and multimeter always at the ready so he can maintain his collection of old computers and synthesisers. He also dreams of flying a glider across the moors someday.

Georgina cut her teeth on the trading floor at ING before moving into IT and, eventually, RegTech. At Ruleguard, she's in charge of maintaining strong relationships with our clients, ensuring we understand their unique requirements and providing product recommendations.

Before joining Ruleguard, Oliver worked as a sound engineer, scuba instructor, and operations manager — all professions requiring superior people skills. He now spends his time listening to our clients and ensuring they're best placed to make the most of our platform's capabilities.

Originally a futures trader, Ramona has spent most of her career in Client Relations. At Ruleguard, she's the key contact during the implementation phase, ensuring projects go smoothly and our clients are in a position to make the most of the platform's long-term benefits.

Sarah joined Ruleguard in May 2022 as an Implementation Consultant before being promoted to Senior Implementation Consultant in September 2023. Before joining Ruleguard, she spent over four years working with some of the UK's biggest aggregate and Waste Management companies, project-managing and helping them implement bespoke software solutions. In her role as Senior Implementation Consultant at Ruleguard, Sarah combines her love of working with people with her technical experience of working with SQL Server Management Studio. In her spare time, she enjoys photography and videography – and has even done a few weddings.

An MSc in Computer Science graduate, Sandeep has been testing software for the best part of 10 years, including for household names like Easyjet, Sainsbury's, and Monese. When he's not relentlessly tracking down software bugs, he's running about with his sons, cycling, or playing tennis.

Mamatha brings sky-high standards, a wealth of quality assurance experience, and relentless attention to detail to the Ruleguard team. Outside the office, you'll usually find her in the kitchen experimenting with different cuisines, cycling, or spending quality time with her family.

A quality assurance professional with a keen eye for detail, Pallabi systematically tests for glitches, bugs, and other assorted annoyances, helping ensure our platform works smoothly. Before joining Ruleguard, she worked with several Banking and Utilities sector clients. 

Renata started her career in software implementation before realising software training was her true calling. At Ruleguard, she takes care of our new staff and client training program and also makes sure everyone is fully informed on what has newly been released in our products.

Ahsan leads Ruleguard's Development and Operations teams, overseeing software developers and information and network security professionals. With a foundation in Computer Science (BSc Hons), he started out as a programmer in the Healthcare sector, where he contributed to the development of distributed hospital management systems. Ahsan then pursued an MSc in Computers and Network Security in 2010 from Middlesex University London, marking the beginning of a decade-long journey in fintech.

Having joined Ruleguard in the early days, Ahsan was instrumental in designing and developing the platform. He then went on to manage Ruleguard’s software development. His extensive experience is currently channelled into the development of applications using distributed and scalable architecture leveraging the cloud and the automation of development processes.

Shweta is in charge of our platform's front end — the interface our clients' end-users interact with. A master of technology in wireless communication, she worked at L&T Infotech, TCS, and Energy Aspects before joining Ruleguard as a Senior Software Engineer in 2018.

Horace has built web applications for the likes of American Express and Aviva, and advocates tirelessly for intuitive, simple UX design. In a past life, he was a student of modern languages and worked as an English teacher and translator. He also plays field hockey and likes experimenting in the kitchen.

In a career spanning 10 years, Mohamed has worked on a wide range of web-based and software development projects. At Ruleguard, he's part of the Front-End Development team, refining the interface and ensuring the user experience is smooth and intuitive.

Manjunath's impressive track record includes work for HSBC, Lloyds, Everest Reinsurance, and the cheque imaging project, which makes it possible for Banking customers to cash cheques digitally. At Ruleguard, he's in charge of our platform's integration capabilities.

A techie through and through, Divya is always on the lookout for new technologies she can learn about and experiment with. A highly experienced professional, she's worked both as a full-stack and back-end developer but prefers to focus on the latter.

Before joining Ruleguard, Abhishri worked with the likes of Network Rail, Barclays, and EY. Experienced both as a full stack and back-end developer, her philosophy is that simplicity is key. But she also enjoys experimenting with new technologies and techniques.

Vinupriya has worked with the likes of SwissRe, John Lewis, the Chartered Insurance Institute, and a few other companies you've probably heard of. At Ruleguard, she works on our platform's back end. She's also constantly broadening her knowledge of the cloud and microservices architecture.

Paul has an uncanny ability to make complex technical concepts sound simple, straightforward, and relatable – which is handy since his responsibilities at Ruleguard include cyber-awareness training, system security, and identifying and mitigating emerging threats.

An Azure and AWS implementation expert, Myles is extremely knowledgeable about enterprise network infrastructure, network security, and films (in that order). He's currently working on a PhD in information security, with a focus on using machine learning to prevent social engineering.

An experienced engineer with a knack for making the complex simple, Kayode helps our clients' end-users get to grips with the Ruleguard platform, answering their burning questions, offering support, and making sure they're using it to the best advantage.
