Ruleguard Update 4.94.0

Written by Shaun Jeavons | Dec 16, 2025 6:29:53 PM

We're pleased to announce that Ruleguard version 4.94.0 is now live!

This update contains the following changes:

Approval Attestations (2-Step Attestations)

  • Users can now setup Attestations to be a 2-Step process, whereby an Owner proposes a response, which an Approver can then approve (completing the attestation) or reject (returning it for revision).
    • This introduces the concept of an Approver, who is solely responsible for finalising the attestation.
    • This is especially powerful when combined with the Update Subject action (for Prompts & Responses), enabling periodic reviews that update underlying Subjects (e.g. updating a Control score).
    • Users can enforce a four-eyes check, preventing an Owner User from also approving the same Attestation (e.g. where the same User is present in User Groups for both the proposal and review due to overlapping responsibilities and oversight).
    • Users are able to see the Field History for each Prompt & Response or Dataset Field to assist in understanding.
    • When the Update Subject Action is enabled a 'diff feature' will present a visual comparison between existing and revised values.
    • Optional comments may be enabled (that sends email notifications to participants).
    • Introduces a Status concept (Not Started, In Progress, In Review, Completed).

Supplier Oversight - Scheduled Stage Workflows

  • Delivered foundational work to support for scheduled Staged Workflows to launch automatically at pre-defined times (coming in the new year) e.g. periodic Due Diligence reviews.
    • Will display the progress of related automations prominently on Firm Cards.
    • Will provide the option of pre-populating Fields (from the previous run).
    • A redesigned Automation matrix will support these new schedule-based automations alongside Calculated Fields.
    • Updated Automation Cards will see new sections for including scheduling, and Actions, plus will provide for clearer History and error information.

MIv2

  • Added the ability to query mapped User Groups on Event Designs making it easier to analyse events by User Group involvement.
  • Added filtering operators for “contains” or “is one of” queries are provided for more flexible querying (mapped subjects).
    • A new super picker improves filtering by allowing Users to select multiple values (e.g., Controls, Topics, People) when selecting Subjects.
  • Comma separated lists may be used for Number type field (e.g. Control ID) and Text type Fields (e.g. Control Name)

General

  • Improved the performance and reliability of the Super Matrix, especially when querying large Datasets.
  • Resolved an issue whereby MIv2 Certification Function reports were incorrectly including end-dated functions.
  • Corrected grouping behaviour in MIv2 so Issue Tasks are grouped by approval date, not individual tasks.
  • Fixed MIv2 drilldown errors when dashboards combined controls and processes.
  • Resolved a rare bug where users could not cancel an attestation under specific conditions.
  • Improved the permissions handling of the Notes Field on the Person card whereby a User without View & Edit Restricted Person Fields was wrongly given the impression they could view and edit the Field when they could in fact do neither (correctly).
