We're pleased to announce that Ruleguard version 4.104.0 is now live!
This update contains the following changes:
Permissions & Access Control
- Own Data Permission Scope on Global History. Permissioned Admins will now be able to apply the Own Data Scope on the View Global History Permission so that Users see only Global History entries they themselves created.
- Individual entity history items remain visible per existing Permission Scopes.
- Narrow Record-group Permissions on Issues by Issue Type. Record-group Permissions on Issues and Stage Workflows can now be limited to a specific Issue Type.
- Schedule Stage Workflow. Any User holding the Automations Permission can now see and use Schedule Stage Workflows from the Automation card on the Firm summary dashboard. Previously, this area could only be administered by Ruleguard Support Users.
- Search across long Permission lists on Role and User cards. Quickly locate a Permission on a Role or User card without scrolling through the full list.
- Bulk-delete Permissions within a Permission Area on a Role. Remove multiple Permissions in one step. A confirmation dialog summarises how many will be removed; each removal is recorded individually in the User Action history.
Supplier Oversight
- File-upload Custom Fields on Firms. Added the File Upload (single and Multiple) Custom Field types for Firms which will be supported on the Firm form, the Firm grid, and Firm creation.
- Write file fields back from Stage Transitions and Launch Actions. The Update Firm Fields Transition Action can now write these fields from the source field (on the form) back to the Firm field.
- Launch Stage Workflow Actions can also copy file fields between source and target. Note that where a target file type does not accept the source file type, the file is not added and a note is written into the history.
Reporting (MI v2)
- MI v2 for Resources, Plan activities and Service activities. It is now possible to generate richer MI across these additional staged workflow types.
- Legal Entity now exposed on Certification Functions in MI v2 . This release adds Legal Entity as an attribute allowing Certification Function MI to be segmented across Firms.
Regulatory Change Management
- Optional email notifications on Launch Regulatory Update Actions. Each Launch Requirement Update Transition Action now exposes a "Send email notification to Stage Users" checkbox (default enabled). Configure independently for each Action - useful where some teams want fewer notifications during high-volume regulatory periods.
- Where the Transition allows defaults to be changed at trigger time, the User can disable the notification during the Transition summary step to provide an additional level of control.
Two-Step Attestation
- Approver details visible in the Inbox. Two-step attestations now show Owners and Back-ups directly on the Inbox card.
Sharing
- Richer history on Shared Topics. The Master Topics now shows a recent history of changes across all entities. Requirement mappings are now surfaced on Process Risk and Control entities when the card is opened. On the Recipient side, details of all changes are now written into the History tab.
Performance Improvements
- This release sees a significant package of performance and stability enhancements as part of our ongoing commitment to providing resilient, enterprise-grade infrastructure.
- This includes back-end enhancements to areas including, but not limited to the Mapping screen; downloads from the Process, Control, Risk, Rule and Topic grids; accept-share performance for Masters and Recipients; and User Action History.
Operational Reliability
- Proactive alerting on critical attestation paths. As part of our commitment to ongoing service enhancement when an evidence upload during attestation throws an unhandled exception, the Ruleguard team will be notified with full context (subdomain, exception time, User, method and stack trace), improving our time to detect incidents in this area. . This represents the first of a suite of upgrades to improve error detection across the platform.
Fixes
- Resolved an intermittent timeout when exporting Tasks from the Event Matrix under heavy production load (see Performance Improvements above).
- Resolved inconsistent fonts in MI report downloads (PDF, PowerPoint, single image and ZIP image exports) - exports now use a single font matching the product UI.
- Resolved a Stage Transition claim synchronisation issue - the claim is now removed in the UI immediately on Transition, and the next stage’s Transition button appears without requiring a page refresh.
- Resolved a Requirement Update workflow ordering issue where a Transition that both accepted updates and launched a secondary Regulatory Change workflow generated the secondary workflow before acceptance.
- Resolved "ghost" Task Lists appearing in the Events Matrix - orphaned Tasks created when a parent Task List was removed via script - these will no longer be surfaced in matrix or Task-design reports and will be correctly hidden.
- Resolved Cancelled events being counted as Overdue in MI - the Overdue filter now excludes Cancelled events, matching the Event Matrix behaviour.
